Dr. Hanan Khairalla

Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn more about my practice! I am passionate about helping college students and young professionals who are struggling with mental health problems. I collaborate with multiple colleges across the state of Massachusetts. I deliver high quality care, drawn from my extensive international experience, and attention to emerging clinical research.

The Story Behind the College Shrink

I was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, and at 16, I took a bold step to pursue my medical education in Khartoum, Sudan, far from my family. Adjusting to a new environment while balancing the pressures of college life taught me firsthand the challenges young adults face during this transformative time.

During my time in Sudan, I recognized the need for mental health support and academic guidance for students. This led me to establish the country’s first student mental health counseling and academic coaching program, an experience that deepened my commitment to mental health.

I later pursued my dream of becoming a psychiatrist in the United States. Today, through The College Shrink, I’m dedicated to helping college students thrive by combining my personal and professional experience.

"Life as a college student can be overwhelming, and it’s okay to feel lost at times. Remember, reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness but a courageous step toward understanding yourself better. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone; together, we can create a path to healing and growth."
